“As mothers and daughters, we are connected with one another. My mother is the bones of my spine, keeping me straight and true. She is my blood, making sure it runs rich and strong. She is the beating of my heart. I cannot now imagine a life without her.”
―Kristin Hannah, Summer Island
Mother’s Day. A day to celebrate mothers, and everything they have done for us. I could honestly go on for days about my mommy and how amazing she is, but I will try to keep it concise.
Not only is Angela my mom, but she is my best friend. Literally. To tell the truth, I don’t really have any “friends,” and honestly, I don’t need many friends because I have her. We talk about everything. We do everything together. We have the same interests and the same personalities. I literally am a miniature version of her.
I can’t think of a time where I have needed my mom and she wasn’t there for me. She always has my back no matter what the case is. Since my parents live overseas, there is a 7 hour time difference between us, but I can be sure that whenever I need to call her, she will be sure to answer.
We text every single day. We spend hours (not like an hour or two, sometimes 3 or more) on FaceTime with each other often. But that’s the kind of relationship we have. I’m super grateful because I know a lot of people don’t have relationships like that with their moms. She is so funny and definitely lives her life to the fullest!
Traveling is one thing we have in common. Growing up overseas, I was fortunate to take trips to various countries, and as I got older, I started becoming obsessed with traveling. My mom and I both like being on the move and experiencing different cultures. Here are some snapshots of a few of our recent trips together!
Seoul, South Korea, 2016
Prague, Czech Republic, 2014
Krakow, Poland, 2014
Maui, Hawaii, 2014
My mom is the most beautiful and amazing person I know. She is so giving, and always willing to help and encourage others. She is my biggest supporter and my number one fan. I honestly can’t imagine my life without her! Thank you for everything you do for me mommy! Thank you for always supporting me and never giving up on me. Thank you for guiding me and always encouraging me to go after my dreams. You are truly my angel on earth. I love you so much!
Shante, you have made being a mother very, very, easy. You have always followed my directions and you have never caused me any stress. I was so sad to see you grow up and leave home although I know that is a very selfish thing to say. I am so happy and proud of the young woman that you have become. As long as I am on this earth we will continue to travel the world; you are my little travel buddy…😍. We have an amazing time on our journeys. Can’t wait to see you in a few weeks! You are an awesome daughter and I love you so much!!!😘😘😘
